Story

You arrived in Paris by sailboat to rebuild the monuments.
Epilogue:
After you rebuilt all the monuments, you will travel by subway to London.

	The infamous con man Victor Lustig managed to sell the Eiffel Tower for scrap metal — twice. Oddly enough, he never attempted to sell a bridge.

	A statue immortalizes the commissioner of the gardens, Marie de Médici. She might have wanted to trade places with it when her son, Louis XIII, permanently banished her from France in the late 1600s.

	Mortally ill King Louis XV vowed he would build a new cathedral to St. Geneviève if he recovered. Why a monument to a saint was modeled after a pagan Roman temple is a less clear.

	Pont Neuf, connecting the Ile de la Cite to Paris, is the oldest bridge in the city. Ironically, the name translates to "New Bridge" — which it was, back in 1578.

	The largest bell in the cathedral tower is known as Emmanuel. No word on whether locals have ever moaned, "Enough with the ringing, Emmanuel! I have a headache."

	The grandest opera house in Paris is so immense, two operas might be offered in the same week — as entire productions can be stored intact.

	The famous cemetery is the resting place of musical master, Chopin. You could say that his heart wasn't in it, however — that organ was removed and buried in his native country, Poland.

	The great cathedral was strategically built to hover over Paris' red light district in the hopes that the holiness would rub off. Unfortunately, it didn't work - not a single business closed.

	In 1833, Egypt gifted the King with the famous obelisk in the square. Parisians immediately insisted that the stone monkeys on it be removed. It is still unclear what anyone had against monkeys.

	The "little palace" was never used as one. It was created as a temporary structure for an exhibition in 1900, and saved when Parisians protested — giving new meaning to the term "tear-down."

	The famous boulevard once banned chain stores, but then fell to commerce. Now you can find nearly every major American chain there — and you can munch fast food fries while shopping.

	Napoleon promised this monument would be built in time to marry his young bride, Marie-Louise, but they were forced to have the ceremony under a wooden replica instead. It didn't bode well for the marriage.
